Thanks to the water-directed cooling of the intercoolers and aftercoolers and cylinder heads, most of the thermal energy is absorbed by the cooling water.
Thus, multi-stage industrial high pressure compressors are especially easy to maintain, have a long service life, and at the same time are quieter than equivalent air-cooled compressors.
