RIVETING PROCESS CONTROL

Riveting process control takes place through an online evaluation of the tensile strength and stroke of the rivet. It is possible to configure the evaluation windows using special configuration software. The tools incorporate all the necessary components for riveting process control. The duration of the evaluation of a riveting process takes less than 1 µs and the result is displayed directly by means of a red or green LED. In addition to this individual evaluation, the system also has an integrated global evaluation for the entire workpiece. The tool can store more than 260,000 riveting process data, which can be accessed at any time. The system also recognizes various types of errors and stores them for later error analysis and troubleshooting. The riveters can operate autonomously or integrated into the customer’s facilities through the GESIPA®-Interface system.

GESIPA-INTERFACE

The new GESIPA®-Interface system has been developed in-house by GESIPA and is based on an embedded PC system. It has 24 digital inputs and outputs for communication with a PLC. In addition, among the features offered by GESIPA®-Interface is the option to connect a protocol converter for all external storage media and common bus systems (via an RJ45 socket) as well as a USB connection to enable fast data transfer. There is an additional charge for this optional extra feature. The GESIPA®-Interface system also has an SQLite process database, in which 250,000 process data (e.g., date, time, riveting point, evaluation, and process curve) can be stored. It is naturally backward compatible, i.e., it can be used with older models.
