The controller powers the Ingersoll Rand QE ™ Series and QM ™ Series precision direct current assembly tools (DC tools) and collects data that manufacturers can use to improve production. The INSIGHTqc controller stores up to 50,000 cycle data records and 50,000 adjustment traces on board the device – one of the largest storage capacities of any controller on the market and 50 times more than Ingersoll Rand’s previous model.
“The INSIGHTqc controller provides a simple, flexible and capable solution that can communicate operational data back to the customer faster and more accurately, saving customers time and money.
This helps in our strategy to provide IoT-enabled solutions that customers can easily integrate into their operational systems and get meaningful information from their manufacturing operations. ”
Simple configuration, training and deployment
The INSIGHTqc controller is easy to configure and integrate with the manufacturer’s assembly operations, and can be connected to multiple devices. Fixture data is stored on an internal hard drive and the controller can be connected to a network to also store data on a plant server. Metrics and analysis are protected even if a network connection goes down and can be studied at any time for quality control.
INSIGHTqc saves training time and installation costs with an intuitive, touch screen programming interface and ready-to-use protocols. Built-in backup and memory recovery features reduce errors and downtime.
The controller can support up to four accessories or out-of-the-box devices, such as a bar code reader or socket tray, with its four integrated USB ports. Operators can also save time and increase productivity with the integrated help system, an interactive icon that opens the corresponding digital pages of the user manual that applies to the controller’s active screen.
